Locum Services for Law Firms & In-House Legal Departments
Ten-Percent Locum Services offer emergency support to firms looking for lawyers and legal support staff for short term or fixed term contracts, whether for holiday cover, increased caseloads, extended annual leave, ongoing consultancy work, ad hoc consultancy, employee departure cover, senior lawyer retirement from practice, sickness leave and maternity leave. Our locums provide office based cover and also remote working support. We also have some locum lawyers who are interested in working on a locum to permanent basis (ie moving from contract to salaried roles). Our locum service also operates via InterimLawyers.co.uk, which is part of our company.

Once you have completed the form we will be in touch. To work as a locum we will need: 1) A copy of your passport or driving licence, 2) a copy of a recent utility bill or similar, and 3) a copy of your current practising certificate if relevant. These can be emailed through to us at cv@ten-percent.co.uk. If you have any references (in the form of a “to whom it may concern” letter), please email these through as well. We expect to hold two recent references for all our locums.
We do not employ locums; instead each company or firm will contract directly with the locum, usually as a self-employed consultant, although it can be done through the firm’s PAYE system. Normally (in 99% of cases) locums are covered by the firm or company’s professional indemnity insurance, but it is important you check this on commencement of any assignment.
