Good morning – Ten Percent Legal Recruitment and Interim Lawyers have recently been asked whether a locum carried their own Professional Indemnity Insurance (PII). A new client indicated that their broker had specifically stated that locums were not covered by their policy. We have also heard from a couple of locums to say that they have PII cover in place, one of whom pays less than £400 a year.
The status quo of PII cover for locums is that they are covered by the clients’ existing policies. In 20 years of recruitment we have only come across requests for locums with PII on a handful of occasions.
However is the situation changing? We would like to build a picture of the current situation across the UK legal job market for locums. We hope that the data collected will assist locums generally in the future.
To complete the strictly anonymous survey, which will take less than 90 seconds, please click this link: https://www.surveymonkey.co.uk/r/XFMT2QN. All answers are completely anonymous – no personal data is collected. You can also reply to this email and I can send you the questions by return email if preferred. Or click the button below:
Many thanks in advance – I hope we are able to build a clear guide to PII cover in the UK for locum lawyers.
